Joost Goodies! ?

Just my luck, a few weeks ago I was asked for my details in case Joost managed to send out some goodies, well yesterday I missed a courier delivery and today I received an email from Joost

The courier company has attempted to deliver your goodie bag but there was no one available to sign for it. If possible can we please have a contact number for you that we can forward to the courier company to arrange a suitable time for re-delivery.

So hopefully tomorrow I should get my delivery of Joost goodies & freebies, I’ll let you know!

Joost has a cash boost

Joost may still be in beta but that didnt stop them signing up advertising deals with 36 big names including Nike, Coke & Intel.

Saavn are a New York media company who offer South Asian content and have joined the growing list of content providers for Joost. Saavn will provide broadcast quality internet television making Bollywood music and films more accessible.

$45 Million in Venture Capital invested

So far, Joost has been able to secure content from networks such as Viacom, CBS, and Time Warner as well as lined up contracts with 31 name brand advertisers, despite still being in the beta phase.

Joost has received about US$45M from five backers, including financiers from Silicon Valley China and Europe, according to Reuters on Thursday. Joost has also provided a sign-up page.

“Index Ventures, Europe’s top Internet venture capital firm and an early backer of Skype, is leading the round with Sequoia Capital, the world’s top venture capital firm, which has financed start-ups from Apple to Yahoo to Google to YouTube.

Joost, a year-old company that is the hottest thing in Internet video after YouTube, is seeking to do for long-form television programming what YouTube has done for short, user-created video sketches,” Reuters reported
